Modeling Oil Recovery in Brazilian Carbonate Rock by Engineered Water Injection Using Numerical Simulation

چکیده
Waterflooding remains the most commonly used method to improve oil recovery. Although injected brine type is mainly dependent on its availability, few of characteristics can be controlled during project design. Published laboratory work indicates that adjustment composition cause an increase in production by wettability alteration. simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
UTILIZING CONCEPTUAL MODELING IN THE STUDY OF ONE OF THE IRANIAN FRACTURED CARBONATE RESERVOIRS
A typical Iranian carbonate matrix block surrounded by an open fracture was modeled in order to understand the fracture-matrix interaction and realize how to model the interaction best. The modeling was carried out by using a fine-scaled Eclipse model in the single porosity mode (the fractures were explicitly modeled). The model was extended to a stack of 6 matrix blocks to understand block-to-...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery Processes
In this paper we develop a new mathematical formulation for chemical compositional reservoir simulation, and provide a comparison of its results on alkaline-surfactant-polymer flooding with those of UTCHEM simulator. Our research has found that the existing chemical compositional model estimates the adsorption effect on the transport of a component reasonably well but it does not satisfy the pr...
متن کاملZeta potential in oil-water-carbonate systems and its impact on oil recovery during controlled salinity water-flooding
Laboratory experiments and field trials have shown that oil recovery from carbonate reservoirs can be increased by modifying the brine composition injected during recovery in a process termed controlled salinity water-flooding (CSW). However, CSW remains poorly understood and there is no method to predict the optimum CSW composition. This work demonstrates for the first time that improved oil r...

According to the temperature distribution of water injection well-bore in highly deviated wells under different conditions and unstable temperature field heat conduction principles, a true three-dimensional model was established to analyze the law of variation on temperature of highly deviated wells during the water injection process, and to analyze the factors that influence the water injectio...
